Governor LePage's veto on implementing a regulatory structure for adult marijuana use has been overruled by lawmakers. LD 1719, An Act To Implement a Regulatory Structure for Adult Use Marijuana, creates the rules for licensing and regulating marijuana producers, processors, and retail establishments and sets the tax rates for adult-use marijuana. This is certain to have an impact on lease rates for production, manufacturing and retail space, along with returns for CRE owners where these operations will reside. Read more here.
