GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY THAT GIVES SO MUCH TO US

We are heading into the Giving Season! Lucky for us, we live in a place where generosity is abundant and giving back truly is a way of life. At Vitalius, we attract people who bring these values to every transaction and conversation they have. We know that settling into a community that cares is a community that thrives. Giving back means acknowledging and joining the people and places who make this home of ours so special.

The Vitalius Giving Program ensures that we are collectively supporting the organizations that matter to us but there are so many other ways our brokers give back. We checked in with a few of them to share more:

Sarah Hipple:
PORTLAND YOUTH CORPS: I am proud to support the Portland Youth Corps through the Portland Parks Conservancy. This 4-week volunteer program for Portland's high school students gives them an opportunity to get involved in conservation work and learn new, relevant life skills while introducing them to a variety of outdoor activities such as kayaking and sailing. They are also learning about the ecology and natural history of the region. I love that kids in Portland get to have these vibrant experiences and give back to their home community. My hope is that they will develop a deep sense of respect and responsibility to take care of our natural spaces to be enjoyed for generations to come. I love working at an agency that values giving back to our community. It is what makes Vitalius and Portland, Maine so exceptional!

Kayla Donoghue:

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE: Early in my career I cared for pediatric cancer patients undergoing treatment. Through this work, I saw how stressful this was for parents and caregivers. Having access to a comfortable space close to the Hospital to rest and gather with loved ones was so important. Families often told me how grateful they were for this organization. Although I no longer work in healthcare their stories had an impact on me which is why I continue to support the Ronald McDonald House mission.

Ben Guerette:
TEENS TO TRAILS:
One of the best things about living in Maine is the ability to enjoy the outdoors. I believe encouraging and developing the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts here in Maine is critically important to help ensure Maine's great outdoor spaces continue to be a resource for all. Teens to Trails connects Maine students to life-changing outdoor experiences throughout the state. I have been supporting Teens to Trails as a board member for over 7 years, and am grateful to be able to grow my financial support of the organization through the Vitalius Giving program.
